The motivation

I train and eat well so that I can be fit enough to walk to places where I can have views like this.  I train to have more fun...and when it is easy to walk for 8 hours and climb these tops it is more fun.

Danny on his bike again

I will get on the bandwagon with this one.  Danny is back.  This is phenomenal. 

I live in Edinburgh so know lots of the places featured here, both in the city and further out to North Berwick , the island of Inchmerry.  Then some great highland scenery as he heads home to Skye.  Skye in sunshine is amazing - it is usually raining!

The healing Effects of Nature

I had a couple of posts on this a while ago - Get your greens and Exercise in the outdoors - but I spotted this bit of news that says the same thing:

Forests -- and other natural, green settings -- can reduce stress, improve moods, reduce anger and aggressiveness and increase overall happiness. Forest visits may also strengthen our immune system by increasing the activity and number of natural killer cells that destroy cancer cells.
Many studies show that after stressful or concentration-demanding situations, people recover faster and better in natural environments than in urban settings. Blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension and the level of "stress hormones" all decrease faster in natural settings. Depression, anger and aggressiveness are reduced in green environments and ADHD symptoms in children reduce when they play in green settings.

Scotland - what a place

This is a bit off topic...this isn't me (it is Petesy) but I couldn't resist putting this video up. He is on the Grey Corries - just along from Ben Nevis - earlier this week....glorious


I was up there in the summer but it is great to see it in winter.
