I put up all sorts of material here about fitness, diet, conditioning..... But the real reason that I am interested in all this stuff is because I want to apply it to be fit enough to do and enjoy the things I love.
And I love being in the mountains.
This was yesterday. Perfect weather in the Highlands.
This is what it is all about. Getting here is a big part of why I train.

Looks pretty nice. Where was this at?
I've yet to summit a real mountain and by real I mean one that actually looks and feels like a mountain. I'm still trying though!
I've been on top of a dinky one before and close to the summit of mt washington, NH but that was a no go.
It was a hill called Sgurr Choinnich Mor - one of a group called the Grey Corries in Glen Nevis, just west of Fort William in the West Highlands of Scotland. Further details of the day are here .
Great photos, Chris. Thanks for posting them.
I just may try to make it over there to hike those hills...
Chris,
Beautiful!
Oh, and the mountains look nice too... *he* :)

Beautiful pics Chris.
Looks fantastic Chris. I never feel more alive than when in the hills. Lakes next weekend - fingers crossed for the weather. Wish it had been last weekend!
methuselah - I hope the weather is good for you this weekend. It makes a huge difference. I've had some great days trudging round hills in the rain - a round of the Mullardoch munros for example that was absolutely soaking and in cloud virtually all day - but sunshine really helps.
Great stuff. This is why we train for sure. Looks amazing.
