150M World Record

This is pretty astounding

There is a good analysis of it here.

He ran the first 100m in 9.90 seconds, which is an extra-ordinary time and a sign of things to come. But even more amazing, the final 100m (from 50m to the finish line) were clocked in an astonishing 8.72 seconds! That is being reported, though it's so fast I'm almost sceptical.

This guy's speed is so incredible. Thanks for the great clip, I wouldn't even have known about that if you hadn't put it up.

As for the final 100m being run in 8.72 seconds, that is an amazing display of speed, but it shouldn't be too surprising. He's already at top speed, and doesn't have to accelerate at that point.

If you think about it, sports cars that run the 1/4 mile in under 10 seconds are considered amazingly fast, but I could run a 1/4 mile in a minivan in under 10 seconds if I already was going 100 miles per hour at the beginning of the race. Since he's already at top speed (or close to it) at the 50m mark, it stands to reason his last 100meters would be significantly faster than his first 100m.

Just my thoughts anyway.

Last time I checked there was no drug testing autority in Caribbean nations.

However, Caribbean athletes are tested more in, and out of season, than all other athletes from other reasons. These tests are done by WADA.

I would know.
