Geoff is awesome. Probably one of my favorite tips is this: create a fence with everyone you talk to, not because you fear them, but because you are training yourself to make it habitual and instinctive.
Your fence should be as disarming and non-threatening as possible, so much so that you can use it in conversation and it simply looks like you are talking with your hands. Do it on your friends, coworkers, boss, subordinates, etc.
You are always trying to cut off potential lines of attack, to redirect posturing, and to make attack undesirable - but to do this without the person ever becoming threatened by, or even aware of, your intentions.
