I recently read "Born to Run" and the author makes many similar arguments. It's interesting to think that this multi-million dollar industry of better running shoes might be causing the very problems the shoes are supposed to fix.
And now the shoe companies are using all the right "barefoot" and "minimalist" language for shoes with up to 1.5" of padding and arch supports.Shameless self-promotion to follow: a high-tech upgrade on the Tarahumara huaraches (including free plans to make your own) at www.InvisibleShoe.com
I got a kick out of the graphic showing barefoot impact "0x bodyweight". That's impressive!
