Nice - handy for indoor work, but I'd hate to have to strap on the laptop for some outdoor sprinting ;-)
I have been using a Gymboss for about a year and found it to be pretty sturdy and reliable. Pretty cheap, too, or at least it was when I bought it and we were getting $2 for every £1...!
I usually use my watch - Timex Ironman - which has a really good interval timer. you can set different work and rest intervals really easily. I like the spoken countdowns on this timer though.
As you say, this is no use outside for sprints, but for squats or db snatches inside near the computer it is great.
I would just love to have this on my mp3-player. I seldom work out next to my computer. Sounds so simple, but I can't find it or work out how to download.
I've been using my Garmin Forerunner 305--since I already have it, and it has other uses.
It allows you to generate a rather complex timing set if you wish (for example, warm up for 10 minutes, hit the tabata interval series, rest 1 minute, etc.)
You can find a Tabata Timer for your iPhone or iPod Touch at http://www.katr.com/iphone.php#tabata. It has visual as well as auditory cues so that you can watch or listen for your activity and rest periods. If you are listening to music on your device, the sound cues will overlay your music.

Cool. Another online interval timer can be found here: http://www.thefitblog.net/2009/01/wod-timer-updated-v02-with-full-screen-and-downloadable.html
It allows for customized intervals and has some other neat functions, including full screen support.
