Knee swap drill

Here is another mobility / agility drill that is pretty similar to something that Rannoch and the guys from the IKFF taught us last week.

A nice drill. There are some forms in Kung Fu (and other martial arts) that incorporate moves very similar to this.

I doubt I would ever use some of Lau Gar's foot strikes but the forms used to develop this give you true '3D/vertical agility' as well as the usual '2D' agility exhibited by footballers and other field/court sports.

In some of the forms you move quickly down to a seated position and back up (without using hands on the ground). It is much more taxing than it sounds!

The author of this youtube video took the drill from Scott Sonnon's Body-Flow DVD at www.rmaxinternational.com

Fantastic. Seems so simple!

You will find versions of this drill all over the world. From Silat, to BJJ to Hou Quan, yoga, Ginastic Natural, sambo and beyond.

It doesn't "belong" to anyone. Human movement is universal.

Everytime I think I've invented a move I kick myself and remember, as yet, there is still no patent on the human body.

Thanks for sharing.
