That study in the NY Times article has been totally debunked by several people e.g. http://www.proteinpower.com/drmike/fast-food/meat-and-mortality/The NY Times writer is notoriously biased against meat.

I found myself thinking "this guys in good shape, but he's not really doing anything that impressive ..."And then I reminded myself that he wasn't wearing any shoes.
