Stretching, Flexibility and Maximal Strength

I keep on posting things like this, but the studies keep on coming. Here is another one which says that :

static stretching may not be recommended before athletic events or physical activities that require high levels of force. On the other hand, ballistic stretching could be more appropriate because it seems less likely to decrease maximal strength.

There's a Youtube video floating about with the Jamaican men's sprint coach talking about ballistic vs. static stretching. His guys all utilize ballistic warm-ups (to the exclusion of static stretching) in their workout and event heat preps.

I'll see if I can track down that clip. The "stretching issue" is just one part of an overall very interesting clip.
