as far as I know JKD is the eclectic style developed by Bruce Lee and I've heard good stuff about it.
I think the key thing about real self defense is simplicity - gross motor movements that do not break down under pressure, simple techniques that are hard to forget. Usually in reality as well it is hit hard and get out of there fast. The stuff on

I just started Jeet Kune Do training recently. Have you heard of this and it's usefulness as a self defense method?
