An amazing 5 year old.....

This is freaky. I must admit I wonder how "healthy" this is for the kid.

There are other videos that I can't embed....but check out the kid's physique in this one!

Skills for his age are damn impressive without a doubt. I'm wondering whether he has a muscular genetic condition eg myostatin or whether he is on roids, which were (and many say still are) common in elite gymnastics supplementation programmes?

I see some people on you tube are questioning the authenticity and whether clever film editing is going on here. If it is real i think it's really disturbing. As a parent I want to encourage my kids to grow up healthy and strong but this has nothing to do with health, and given the softness of bones at that age is probably dangerous. I shudder to think what his musculoskeletal health is going to be like in 20 years. I can't escape the feeling this has more to do with parents egos.

I don't think we have to assume anything but that the kid's gifted. I also doubt that weight-bearing exercise is bad for children's soft bones. That old saw probably goes back to the days when vitamin d deficiency (and phytic acid?) was causing rickets. Jumping up and down delivers a lot more stress to bones than hand-stand pushups do.

I should have made that a little clearer, it sounds like I'm saying that I'm not sure weight-bearing exercise is bad for children's bones; I mean to say that it's just plain good for them, and necessary for proper development.
